The Pine Creek Rail Trail is a 64 mile trail that extends from Ansonia in Tioga County down to Jersey Shore in Lycoming County. Once the railroad industry disappeared from Central PA, the rails were no longer needed. Thus the old rail lines have been turned into usable trails for everyone from experienced bikers to family fun. The trail is made of crushed limestone and features beautiful natural scenery. Alpine Club of Williamsport
The Alpine Club maintains the Loyalsock trail through a series of work hikes in the spring, but also has monthly hikes in Northeastern Pennsylvania throughout the rest of the year. Persons taking their monthly hikes leave from Sovereign Bank in South Williamsport, PA at 8AM, and we carpool to the area of the hike. The hikes that we schedule are day hikes usually 5 to 10 miles in length. In addition to hikes, we also cross-country ski, snow shoe, bicycle, and canoe.

The Golden Eagle Trail is an 8.9 mile circuit trail, located 2.9 miles north of Cammal on Route 414. LOCATION: Northwestern corner of Lycoming County in north central Pennsylvania, about 40 miles northwest of Williamsport. The trail can be reached by traveling north on PA Route 44 from the vicinity of Jersey Shore on US 220 between Lock Haven and Williamsport, then following PA Route 414 past Jersey Mills and Cammal to the trailhead.

The Black Forest Trail is located in the northwestern corner of Lycoming County in north central Pennsylvania, about 50 miles northwest of Williamsport. Spring in Pennsylvania’s “Endless Mountains” is a special time, but you can savor the Black Forest Trail’s sweeping views during any season. Averaging one vista for each of its 42 miles, the trail could be considered the Keystone State’s most panoramic pathway. Virgin stands of hemlock and white pine trees once grew so tall and thick that sunlight couldn’t reach the forest floor, hence the “black” forest.
