It's a family music event that has put Billtown square in the middle of the live Blues map. Williamsport is approximately 15 miles from the Festival grounds. Aug 14, 2008: Grand Slam Parade Downtown Williamsport - Join the thousands of spectators who line the streets of downtown Williamsport to welcome the 16 teams participating in the annual Little League World Series. All 16 Little League World Series teams rides on a float in the parade accompanied by their coaches and escorted by their volunteer "uncles" (local volunteers who escort the teams all throughout the entire week of the the Little League World Series). Oct 25, 2008: Annual Mummers' Parade Enjoy the Annual Mummers' Parade with many marching bands and floats. It's fun for the whole family. Time 2:00 PM, Location: Borough of South Williamsport, Central Ave. & Main St. Oct (TBA): Fall Foliage Train Excursion Take a scenic ride in restored 1920s passenger cars and enjoy our splendid fall colors. Trips are approximately 32 miles and last about 1.5 hours. Tickets go on sale in mid-September. Williamsport to Muncy will run at 11 AM and 5 PM. Williamsport to Jersey Shore will run at 2 PM. Oct (TBA): Williamsport Symphony Orchestra Opening Night The Williamsport Symphony Orchestra will be teaming up with our friends, the Susquehanna Valley Chorale. The program will consist of great choral-symphonic works. Call for tickets. Oct (2nd Saturday): Williamsport Oktoberfest German heritage takes the forefront at this popular autumnal festival. Folks turn out in the crisp air for a day of family-filled amusements in Downtown Williamsport. Arts and crafts vendors present their wares, games and competitions are held, and plenty of authentic music rings through the streets. The children's section has pumpkin painting, cookie decorating, Halloween crafts for kids, story telling by the James V. Brown Library and more. There is plenty of good food throughout the streets provided by the local restaurants including many German dishes. Oct (Late Nov): Victorian Christmas The Christmas season offers homes and businesses on Millionaires' Row one more reason to flaunt their beauty. Owners dress up the architectural gems with gorgeous decorations, both inside and out, and invite folks in to tour. Dec (TBA): Polar Express Train Excursion All aboard the annual Polar Express! Take the family on this popular excursion that goes to the Williamsport Regional Airport and picks up Santa. Goodie bags are given to children on board. Departures are at 11 AM, 1 PM, 3 PM, 5 PM and 7 PM. Tickets go on sale mid-November. Call for more information and ticket prices.
